Yoruba Nation Agitators Storms Idiroko border, Declares It Reopened.

Some Yoruba nation agitators on Saturday 29th of May, 2021 stormed the Idiroko Land border at Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State and forcefully opened it.

The Nigeria Customs Service however reported they were swiftly repelled by the officers on duty who were manning the border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.

Recall that the Land border has been closed since 2019 in a bid to ensure all importation into the country are carried out at the various ports.

In the 19-minute-and-23 -second video clip, the agitators could be heard screaming at the top of their voices “We have opened the border at Idi-Iroko!”. Additionally, they asked people to begin their importing business through the Idiroko Land border.

The Ogun 1 Area Command, Hammed Oloyede has also confirmed the incident but also reiterated the agitators were repelled, and that no custom officer was attacked.
