Wike applauds the Supreme Court, stating that Rivers will join the case against the FG.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has commended the Supreme Court restraining the Central Bank of Nigeria from implementing the February 10 deadline on the phasing out of N200, N500 and N1000 old notes. He urged the people to preserve their PVCs and join the suit against the Federal Government.
Wike made the remarks during the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area, where he urged residents to keep their permanent voter cards (PVCs) in order to vote for PDP candidates at the state level. He also praised the governments of the three states that brought the lawsuit.
He stated that the Rivers State Government will join the suit against the Federal Government, noting that the state’s PDP is opposed to the policy. The governor emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision demonstrated that the judiciary is the common man’s hope.
