The Minister of Information and Culture in the person of Lai Mohammed.
The Minister of Information and Culture of the country in the person of Lai Mohammed, has informed Nigerians that the Federal Government is handling the problem of insecurity in the country.
He said the hint in some quarters that the government was clueless was groundless, adding that the result of the government’s efforts would soon be obvious
A declaration said the Lai Mohammed spoke on Tuesday during a press briefing in Lagos.
He said, “It is no longer news that our dear nation is facing security challenges. However, I have read comments saying the Federal Government is devastated and doesn’t have an ground as to how to solve the challenges. Some have even gone as far as suggesting termination of the democratic order.
He added that he is here today to assure all Nigerians that while the government acknowledges the security challenges we face at this time, from terrorism to kidnapping, banditry, and farmer-herder conflict, it is not dominated and that certainly it has the wherewithal. Lai Mohammad said in the days ahead, the challenges confronting the Nation will soon be over and law and order, peace and security will be restored to Nigerians.
The Minister explained that the government indeed knew the locations of kidnappers, adding that security agencies were only being careful to prevent casualties.
One of the most impossible things to do, for a democratically-elected government, is to use the strategies of oppression against its people. For example, while the nation’s military has superior firepower over the ragtag band of Boko Haram and ISWA, the terrorists most often than not regulate among the populace, either in our villages or towns, hence the military, in attacking them, is usually careful to avoid collared damage.
He said the attack on the security agencies of the country is a declaration of war.
