This year, Children’s Day 27th will be exciting, superb, and different as 9ijakids in collaboration with STEM-METS and EduFun Technik are organizing a Virtual STEAM Fest for 1,000 children between the ages of 7-13 years as part of the 2021 Children’s Day activities.
“What is STEAM?” STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM).
According to research, 80% of jobs will require technological skills. Most jobs of the future will require a basic understanding of Math and Science. STEAM occupations are growing at 24%, while other occupations are growing at 4%.
STEAM education helps children become better problem solvers, originators, authors, self-reliant and logical thinkers. Also, ensures they have the required skills to join the future force.
The committee of the STEM Fun Fest hopes to “spark” a love for STEAM through education, funfairs, and career talks.
The 2-hr virtual website for kids aged 7-13 will include fun, engaging STEAM workshops, short talks from kids competition, and games.
Some of the speakers at the event include Gitanjali Rao (Inventor, and Author, Time Kid of the Year 2020), Victory Yinka Banjo (Technovation Challenge Student Ambassador), and Barbara Salami (VP Commercial, Moderna, and Co-founder of STEM Dragon).
I think this is an event all parents should engage their children in. It is going to be exciting.
