The state has embarked on massive production of rice to meet the need of local and external demands of the product. The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food security Prince Olaabode Adetunji said the project will be launched by the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele and hosted by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Security will be guaranteed for all farmers in the locality and all facilities will be provided to make their work easier and faster.
He also said the state has 23 investors who are interested in the planting of rice, cocoa, and palm oil. The project will serve as a source of job opportunities for the state and will reduce starvation.
