The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, has advised drivers in the state against indiscriminate parking on the motorways and inner roads in an effort to buy petrol.

The FRSC’s Sector Commander, Mr. Ahmed Umar, issued the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ota, Ogun.

Umar spoke against the backdrop of fuel shortage brought on by the Federal Government’s elimination of the fuel subsidy.

In order to prevent traffic congestion across the state, he claimed that motorists needed to be warned.

“In order to avoid blocking more than two lanes while purchasing fuel, motorists should drive calmly,” the sector commander said.

In order to protect their lives and the lives of others, Umar also warned drivers against carrying jerry cans in their cars, stating that “this is a dangerous act.”
