Pensioners would receive a N10,000 Christmas bonus, according to Makinde

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, granted a Christmas bonus of N10,000 for each pensioner in the state on Friday.
According to a statement from the governor’s chief press secretary, Taiwo Adisa, the step was done to make the holidays better for retired employees who had meritoriously served the state.
The statement claims that the bonus will be given days after the government pays employees’ salaries and pensions for December 2022.
The 13th month’s wage had also been approved by the government, and according to Makinde, it will be paid on or before December 31, 2022.
“His Excellency has authorised the payment of N10,000 to all pensioners in the state as a Christmas Turkey bonus,” it stated. All pensioners pay the same flat rate.
“The incentive comes just days after the state administration gave employees and pensioners their December 2022 salaries. The payment of the 13th month’s salary, which is scheduled to be made on or before December 31, 2022, had also received the governor’s approval.
“His Excellency hopes that everyone in retirement has a happy holiday season.
The bonus is a sign of His Excellency’s gratitude for and support of our senior and retired residents, who have devoted a great deal of time to the state.
