The schedule for the local government elections in the State has been made public by the ondo Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
The date of the municipal elections was listed as December 16, 2023.
The release of the schedule was in accordance with Section 28 (1) of the Electoral Act of 2022, according to Commission Chairman Prof. Yomi Dinakin, who made this announcement at a briefing in Akure.
Dinakin claimed that the declaration was made to prevent legal trouble.
Party primaries will be held by political parties between April 10 and June 10, 2023, according to Dinakin, while campaigns will start on July 17 and terminate at midnight on December 14 of that year.
In order to announce the election guidelines, he stated that the body would meet with stakeholders.
ODIEC will keep making sure that local government elections are held in a legitimate and respectable way.
The training of Adhoc workers will take place between November 23 and December 1st, 2023, according to Prof. Tajudeen Ibrahim, the ODIEC Commissioner in Charge of Training and Legal.
