David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a prominent Nigerian musician who has achieved another career milestone.
In addition to collecting honors, Davido is also breaking barriers and making history on social media. On Monday, one of his photos taken with his partner Chioma at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar became the Nigerian Instagram post with the most likes, garnering over 1.7 million.
On Sunday, Davido played at the FIFA World Cup 2022’s closing ceremony in Qatar. Ahead of the event, the award-winning musician shared photos with Chioma on Instagram, who could be seen getting her man ready for the stage.
Since the passing of his son Ifeanyi in October, Davido hadn’t published anything on social media until.
Since the event, the couple had avoided social media, but when he returned, millions of Nigerians and followers from across the world flocked to like their photos.
Aisha, Ozun, and GIMS, three international performers, also appeared on the global stage with Davido.

The wonderful news that Davido would perform at the 2022 FIFA World Cup’s closing ceremony was initially announced by Chinese businessman Stephen Hung last week.
For many Nigerians and followers of the music star around the world, the development was a welcome piece of news.
