Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has disbanded his cabinet.

Before taking office for a second term on May 29, 2023, Abiodun dissolved his cabinet in accordance with the law.

At today’s farewell State Executive Council meeting, the governor “sadly” announced the breakup of the cabinet.

Abiodun expressed his gratitude to the appointees for cooperating with him and helping the state in an emotional speech.

“Sadly, I am officially dissolving this executive council today, May 26, 2023,” Abiodun said.

The governor stated that he had put together some parting gifts for the departing appointees and promised that the office of the secretary will distribute the gifts to them.

“Please stay in touch, as I will miss you all. Our commitments have been met. Due to our limitations, we are unable to give ourselves a perfect score. However, we have done our part, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished,” he said.

“Some of you will be asked to serve again, and I’m confident you’ll be willing to do it,” Abiodun continued.

“I appreciate your confidence in me, your support of my efforts, and your dedication to the state,” he said.

He thanked God because since its formation, no member of the council had died.
