NPFL: Win next 2 matches or get the sack, Wikki Tourists FC threatens coach, Dogo

Kabiru Sulaiman Dogo, the team’s technical adviser, has been given till the end of the current 2023 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by Bauchi state-owned football club, Wikki Tourists FC, to turn things around or face being fired.
The club management issued the gaffer a letter of ultimatum in which they stated that he had two matches that the club had to win in order to advance.
“Squeal to the emergency meeting between the Board Members and Management of Wikki Tourists Football club Bauchi, I am directed to write and communicate to you, the decision of the Board of Wikki Tourists FC Bauchi,” said Adamu Idris Pali, the club secretary, in the letter.
“The board found your performance very low which will lead to deterioration and fall of our state beloved squad,” he continued in his letter.
“In light of the aforementioned, the Board has decided to issue you an ultimatum of two must-win matches before taking proper action against you, taking into account the conditions of our agreement with you and the management of Wikki Tourists Football Club,” Pali continued.
The brief letter ended with the words “We hope you will offer us the best of your potential for greater performance.”
With just one point from its first four league games, Wikki Tourists FC is now last on the group B standings of the condensed league.
However, he acknowledged that there were problems inside his team, emphasizing that he was never the issue. In the meantime, the embattled TA of the Club, Kabiru Dogo, has come out to claim that the current run of bad performance by Wikki Tourists was not a technical-related issue.
Dogo was responding to the rumor making the rounds on social media that he has been given two games to turn around the club’s fortunes after they were placed last in Group B of the Npfl23 with just one point from as much as twelve.
He claimed, “I am not aware of any deadline as I speak with you; at Wikki Tourists, I have never been the issue. The team’s low performance isn’t due to a technical problem.
However, the former gaffer of the Sunshine Stars and Lobi is unhappy to learn about the ultimatum online, stating that “The letter should have been sent to me personally but that was never the case, I only knew about this development from friends and family who were calling me to confirm about the authenticity of the release.”
Coach Dogo concluded, “Hopefully the team will rebound to retake their spot among the best teams in the group.”
