Nnamdi Kanu Trial Postponed Till Oct 21, 2021.

The department of state service in Nigeria has failed to produce the Leader of the indigenous people of Biafra in court. This was reported by his legal team led by Aloy Ejimakor after they granted an interview to a swam of journalists at the federal high court in Abuja.

The court case was supposed to be one of its kind, as Nigerians as well the international community waited expectantly to see the outcome of the court hearing.

From the foregoing, it looks like the DSS was never prepared for the trial, hence the failure to produce MNK in court led to the Nnamdi Kanu trial postponed till October 21st, 2021.

Recall that the Leader of the indigenous people of Biafra has been allegedly extradited in Kenya by the joint collaboration of the Kenyan and Nigerian security forces when Kanu was in Kenya for a medical checkup, and subsequently brought before the Binta Nyako-led federal high court for the continuation of his trial.

In a previous interview with BBC pidgin, the lead counsel to Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor says it is going to be trial within the trial as the federal government needs to explain how it “Extradited” Kanu.

Nnamdi Kanu has been heaped with charges which according to the federal government include Treasonable felony, unlawful possession of Arm, leading a proscribed organization amongst other heavy charges.

At the court on 26th July, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, informed the court that there was a pending application before the court to transfer Kanu from the custody of the DSS to the correctional center

Justice Binta Nyako had said the trial cannot continue without the presence of Nnamdi Kanu since he is not available to stand his trial and also called the DSS to produce the IPOB leader in court for trial.

She insisted that Kanu must physically be brought to court since he is now available to face his trial and urged the prosecution to ensure that Kanu is brought to court to witness his trial.
