The first astronomical lunar crescent for the month of May will be sighted on Wednesday May 12 which will be visible to the naked eyes between the hours of 6:21pm and 7:42pm after the sunset . This prediction was made by the National Space Research Development Agency through it’s centre for Basic Space Science.

This will signify the end of Ramadam ushering in Eid-al-Fitr and the beginning of the month of Shawwal.

The lunar creacent will be first seen in Yola,Maiduguri and Jalingo whole Birnin Kebbi would be the last.

Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs said Tuesday isn’t the 29th day of Ramadan 1442H and it is the first day for the Muslims to look out for shawwal crescent which ends the Ramadan.
