My Husband Will Prioritize Women And Youth Unemployment In 2023, Remi Tinubu Asserts

Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has praised the residents of Lagos Central for their support of her political career and for helping her become the first woman to hold office in the Nigerian Senate for three consecutive terms.
She made the statement on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Onikan, Lagos, where thousands of women from the six South-Western states gathered for the South-West zonal Tinubu/Shettima Women Presidential Campaign rally. This was the fourth rally held nationwide as part of the women’s wing of the APC presidential campaign’s efforts to support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima’s candidacy.
“I want to express my gratitude to the Lagos Central Senatorial District in particular for sending me to the National Assembly. I made history by being the first woman to hold office for three terms, and for that, I am eternally grateful.”
She also mentioned her charitable work in the region and praised Hajiya Nana Shettima, the APC vice presidential candidate’s wife, for her merits.
“Since 2007, when my husband’s term as governor of this state came to an end, I have continued to work for the welfare of our people and humanity through my numerous charities. My sister, Hajiya Nana Shettima, strikes me as having a similar outlook.”
“I was chairing the Senate Committee on Women’s Affairs when I first met her, which was during my second term in the National Assembly. We had to travel to Borno State to witness what was happening in the IDP camps after a motion was brought up on the Senate floor.
When she traveled to Borno State while her husband was as governor, she remarked, “I saw a woman enthusiastic about the people.
Additionally, Senator Tinubu assured that, should her husband win the election for president the following year, women’s and youth concerns would receive the proper attention.
I can guarantee you that the Tinubu/Shettima administration will put women’s issues and youth unemployment at the top of its priority list, she stated.
