Missy Elliott Makes History at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Rapper Missy Elliott made history on February 1 when the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2023 nominees, making her the first female member of the Hip Hop genre to receive the award.
“This is a truly remarkable honor. I’m incredibly grateful and thrilled to be among the amazing honorees, “In the present, Missy stated in a news statement. “I’ve devoted my professional life to creating the genre of music I adore, therefore it means the world to me to hear that I have touched others as well.”
The 51-year-old “Lose Control” singer went on to say what the honor means to her.
She went on, “Nevertheless, to learn that I am the first ever female hip-hop artist to receive a nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?! Wow!! This song really stands out because I want to help more female emcees get noticed, so I hope it does that!”
Artists including Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, and George Michael are also up for the award. This fall, a date, a location, and other details will be revealed for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony.
