Messi wrote after the World Cup victory, “I can’t believe it.”

Lionel Messi, the icon of Argentina and the freshly crowned World Cup champion, took to Instagram on Sunday night to celebrate the victory in Qatar and to thank his supporters, family, and nation, stating it was an incredible moment for him.
For the first time since 1986, when Diego Maradona led the Argentine national team to triumph over West Germany, Messi led Argentina to victory over France to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In a thrilling 120-minute game that ended in a 3-3 draw, the two sides battled it out to the very last second. France forward and star player Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick to tie the score in extra time and send the game to penalties, where Argentina defeated France 4-2.
Messi, a seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, tweeted, “CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!” in a moment of sheer, unadulterated joy after his side won. I’ve wanted to fall so badly and in so many dreams that I still haven’t succeeded. It’s really unbelievable.
Thank you very much to my family, to everyone who supports me, and to everyone who believed in us. Once more, we demonstrate the power of Argentine unity and cohesion in achieving our goals.
“The strength of this collective, which is superior than individuals, is the result of everyone working together to realize a common goal that was shared by all Argentinians.
“We succeeded! DAMN IT, LET’S GO ARGENTINA. We’ll be meeting up soon.
In addition to the FIFA World Cup, Messi has also won 10 La Liga titles, eight Supercopa de Espana, seven Copa Del Reys, four Champions Leagues, three FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, the Olympic gold medal, one Finalissima, seven Ballon d’Or (the most of any player), three times as the best player in Europe by the UEFA, and twice as the best player in the history of FIFA Men’s Football.
Many people consider Messi to be the best player to ever play the game.
