Kaduna Monarch Gyet Maude Regains Freedom

Gyet Maude, the traditional ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Kaduna State has regained his freedom after spending 48 hours with his Abductors. It has been reported that the 83-year-old monarch was kidnapped on Monday, July 26, on his farm at Gitata community in Nasarawa State.

It was disclosed on Wednesday night by his brother Anthony Maude. He told the newsmen about the incident.

The kidnappers later reached out to the family and demanded the sum of N100m ransom before he would be released.

The monarch’s brother did not give details on whether the ransom was paid or not or if he was rescued by security operatives.

As of the time of filing this report, there is no official statement on the development, as the spokesman of the state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, could not be reached.

However, in less than 24 hours, the emir regained his freedom from his kidnappers while other members of the family were still held captive.
