In response to IPOB, Ohanaeze dismisses the plot against the PDP presidential candidate

Recall how Emma Powerful, a spokesperson for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), claimed there was a South-East assassination conspiracy against Atiku?
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar was allegedly the target of an assassination threat on Monday, according to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the highest Igbo sociocultural organization.
Remember how Emma Powerful, a spokesperson for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), claimed there was a South-East assassination conspiracy against Atiku.
However, in response to the assertion, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, through its national president Okwu Nnabuike, asked Atiku to disregard the purported threat.
The statement emphasizes that all presidential candidates are free to visit the region and share their policies with the general public and claims that nothing justifies the assassination of Atiku or anybody else in the area.
He said, “We received with concern the statement credited to IPOB, wherein it alleged that there is a plot to assassinate the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku, in the South-East.
“We want to be clear that there is no such plot in Igbo territory at all. The hospitality that Ndigbo are known for has not changed.
“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, an Igbo guy, is Atiku’s election running partner. He should feel free to visit the South East at any moment for his campaign as he is also Ndigbo’s in-law.
Okwu issued a warning against making any moves or doing anything that would inflame things unnecessarily.
