EPL: Odegaard becomes Arsenal’s highest-paid player with new contract
Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, has now become Arsenal’s highest-paid player.
The Athletic reports that Odegaard has signed a new five-year contract that runs until 2028.
“For me, deciding to sign a new contract was a really simple process.
“What we are doing as a club right now is special, and I want to be a part of that,” Odegaard said.
The Norwegian international joined Arsenal originally on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021, and he is currently in his third season with the club.
After a standout season in which he scored 15 goals in the Premier League to share the midfield-scoring lead, he was voted the Gunners’ Player of the Season.
