EFCC arrests 28 people in Nasarawa for cybercrime

In Lafia, Nasarawa State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Makurdi Zonal Command have detained 28 alleged online scammers.
This was disclosed by the EFCC in a string of tweets posted to its verified Twitter account.
The suspects were detained on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at a hideout in Lafia as a result of information about their alleged involvement in cyber fraud, according to the commission.
Emmanuel Isaiah, Jones Kismet, Shehu Khalif, Yusuf Mudi, Umar Ibrahim, Gabriel Selumun, Moses Hamidu, Christian Kelechi, Sara Abdullah, Abdulsalam Ogba, Ngene Chinonso, Muoneke Celestine, Terhemen Silas, Emmanuel Phillip, Emmanuel Akwe, and Adeleke Raphael are the accused.
Others are: Benny Ukeh Iyaji, Arigu Bishara, Emmanuel Idi, Omotunde Mayowa, Kenneth Joy, Ozigho Agnes, and Rejoice Solomon. Samuel Kubialah, Sanusi Abdullahi, Dugeri Jerome, Terhemen Mark, Joshua Emmanuel, Gedion Sunday, and Terwase Kenneth.
37 phones, 5 laptops, 5 ATM cards from various banks, 2 identity cards, 2 wallets, 2 laptop chargers, 1 knife, 3 power banks, 1 hard drive, and 1 battery charger are among the items that were recovered from them.
The EFCC added that they would be charged to court as soon as the investigations were concluded.
