December 26, 27, and January 2 will be public holidays in Nigeria.

To commemorate Christmas and Boxing Day, the Federal Government has designated December 26 and 27, 2022, as public holidays.
Additionally, a holiday for the New Year was established on January 2, 2023.
The announcement was made on Thursday by the interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement that was witnessed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore.
Aregbesola congratulated Christians and all Nigerians worldwide.
He exhorted people to follow Jesus Christ’s teachings, especially those related to faith, hope, and love, and to model his qualities in deeds after him.
Aregbesola warned Nigerians that 2023 will be a year of elections and political change, and that they should make the most of it by casting their votes peacefully and avoiding anything that would jeopardize the process.
