Celebrity chef Salt Bae to feed 5,000 people
Following the terrible earthquake in Turkey, celebrity chef Salt Bae has announced intentions to feed 5,000 people every day in his home country.
The well-known restaurateur, 39, who is from Pasali in Turkey and goes by the name Nusret Gokce, has prepared for a mobile kitchen to travel to the disaster area.
The overall death toll from last Monday’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and neighboring Syria passed 37,000 on Monday and appeared to be continuing to rise. The UN has issued a warning that the death toll may rise above 55,000.
We started serving hot meals to more people, aiming for 5000 people every day, the chef stated in a caption for an Instagram photo of the food truck.
“For us, it will be the most significant and crucial service in the entire planet.”
Another post showed survivors waiting in line to be fed outside while the vehicle with his name on the side was loading up and leaving a warehouse.
