With the Twitter Ban in Nigeria Massively taking effect, both public and private broadcast stations operating in the country have been asked to immediately delete their Twitter accounts.
People’s Gazette reported that the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) issued the directive in a statement on Monday morning after it noticed that some broadcast stations have stopped distributing their contents to social media amidst fears of a government crackdown.

Recall that the Twitter Ban directive was issued via a press release from the ministry of information under Lai Mohammed after a genocidal Tweet was made by the president, and legal scholars have argued it cannot be taken as a law or actionable instrument.
