Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen who was forced off during their 3-2 defeat in Serie A to Inter Milan on November 21 is edging his way back into contention at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Victor Osimhen has returned to full training with Napoli after recovering from a head injury. Osimhen clashed heads with Milan Skriniar and had to be replaced by Andrea Petagna. The 22-year-old then underwent surgery, with the Italian top-flight outfit announcing he would be out for at least three months- which meant he wouldn’t be among the eagles in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Osimhen who has missed four matches over the past 16 days could now come back into the squad for a crucial Europa League clash with Leicester City on Thursday.
The Goal Machine also announced his return to fitness on Wednesday afternoon: “Thankful to God Almighty. I sincerely appreciate those who reached out to me, God bless you and yours. No time to dwell on past transgressions, looking forward to the greater things ahead. God is the greatest, we move!”
Napoli welcomed him back, writing on Instagram: “Come on Victor!!” They italian side are currently sitting in the third position, two points behind leaders AC Milan, having picked up 36 points from 16 matches.
On the International scene, this will be a massive boost for Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles who are gunning for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations glory.
