Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, a seasoned comedian, announced his separation from his wife Elsie Okpocha on Thursday.
The PUNCH had previously reported that while Basketmouth neglected to commemorate their yearly wedding anniversary, which is typically in November, they did mark Elsie’s 44th birthday anniversary around September.
As he made the announcement of their divorce on his verified social media, Basketmouth penned the following statement: “As much as it saddens me to put my personal life to the public space, this is an inevitable circumstance.
“My wife and I have decided to dissolve our marriage after considerable consideration.
“Even when we go our own ways, we’ll keep working together to provide our precious kids with the care, love, instruction, and support they require.
“As we make our way through these difficult times, we humbly ask that you respect our privacy. I’m grateful,” he remarked.
