Baba-Ahmed cautions the Nigerian government not to push the poor too hard as the naira and fuel shortages gets worse

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), has cautioned the Nigerian government from inciting vulnerable Nigerians to go to war due to the negative effects of the naira and cash shortage in the nation.
Baba-Ahmed in a tweet on Tuesday condemned the challenges facing the masses as a result of destructive policies of the government.
Nigerians were frustrated by the lack of naira throughout the nation, and many of them staged violent protests against the policy.
Recent events in Abeokuta showed some heartbreaking scenes of people being shot and property being trashed.
The NEF spokesman blamed the problem entirely on bad governance and stressed that immediate action was needed to stabilize the situation.
He wrote: “How much can the people endure? Cant buy, cant sell, cant eat, cant move, not safe, not heard, not relevant. Is this politics or poor governance? Please do not push the poor too hard.”
