If elected president in the general election of 2023, former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar has vowed to reconstruct the nation.
Atiku made this statement on Tuesday during a visit to the palace of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, the Ooni of Ife.
You will all remember that from 1999 to 2015, the PDP era was when Nigeria had its greatest progress, greatest affluence, and most peaceful coexistence.
“We think it’s time for you, the people of this country, to give us another chance so we can get this country back together.
So that we can safeguard this country once more and make it more rich than any other nation on the African continent, he said.
If elected, Atiku pledged to keep every promise he made.
He promised to involve everyone, claiming that doing so would spur growth and development among all people.
“We won’t be able to carry out the majority of our cardinal programs until there is harmony and peace throughout the nation.
And one of the fundamental programs we pledge to the people of this country is to restructure it. Some have questioned how a northerner can do this.
But let me take you down memory lane to show you that the late Murtala Mohammed, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, and Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa all succeeded in their plans to restructure this nation.
If the PDP won the next presidential election in Nigeria, Atiku promised to use every legal tool at his disposal to restructure the country.
and to grant authority to local government councils and states.
“We’ll also see to it that the Constitution is amended by the National Assembly to grant authority to all traditional rulers.
He declared, “I haven’t come to this castle to run for office; rather, I am here to pay homage to Your Royal Highness.
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun, had earlier thanked God for providing him the chance to assume responsibility for the state’s administration.
Adeleke promised Atiku a landslide of support in the state for the election in 2023.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, stated that only God Almighty possessed power.
Oba Ogunwusi made it clear that this nation belonged to all Nigerians and was superior to all others.
“Either you are elected president or vice president, you have a total of eight years to use. Keep in mind that serving the populace and improving their quality of life will be your legacy.
“We are all in search of hope; the vast majority wants to see opportunity and wealth in their lives; the vast majority wants to have a better life and live well.
“Be certain that you are serving our people, and make an effort to do so with love in your heart. You must always show affection to our people, especially the young, he remarked.
