APC gains more defectors in Sokoto in 2023

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in the state’s eastern zone, according to the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, have received more defectors.
This information was released to the media on Friday by Bashar Abubakar, the special assistant to Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), the state’s top APC official.
Hundreds of followers of the PDP, Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) from the Gwadabawa, Illela, and Goronyo Local Government Areas joined the APC in the most recent defections, according to Abubakar.
Former council members and other stakeholders from the state’s eastern region are among those who have left.
The party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, and his running mate, Alhaji Idris Gobir, met them all at their local governments, he added.
Before the state’s next elections in 2023, Abubakar noted that the development has continued to provide the party greater reason for optimism.
