The Kwara State chapter of the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Alubarika Group has advised all other contenders to the nation’s presidency come 2023 in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allow the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, take the slot so as to rescue the country from its present predicament.
Speaking in Ilorin on Monday during a press conference, the state chairman of the group, Alhaji Mohammed Taofiq Idiagbon, said that the advice became imperative in view of the past political experiences of the former Senate President, Dr. Saraki.
He said: “Apart from this, the people of the North-central have never tasted the nation’s presidency and hence the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who hails from Ilorin in the North-central zone of the country, should be allowed to take the slot come 2023.”
Idiagbon, who was flanked by the secretary of the group, Mr. Tunji Idris, and other members of the group, said: “The kind of leader that Nigeria needs this time around is former Kwara State governor and former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, so as to bail the country from the current predicament being experienced by the people of the country.
“Saraki is a tested leader and possesses all the needed qualities that can change the nation’s economy for positive attractions to other leading economies of the world.”
Idiagbon added that the other contenders to the nation’s presidency come 2023 should allow Saraki to take the slot and rally round him so as to clinch the PDP presidential ticket for the 2023 general election in the country.
According to him, “Our group has been in fervent prayers and fasting because we believe in Dr. Saraki leadership that if allowed to take the nation’s presidency slot he would perform creditably.
“We are throwing our support behind the aspirations of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, so as to lead the nation into a promised land of economic prosperity and growth.”
